Korcula Sea Kayaking
Grand Prix of Korcula
Full Day Tour
Think of this tour as a book compared to a film – the film would be LAGO DI KORCULA tour, while this one, the book, touches more islets and beaches, takes more miles and, consequently, hours. We kayak longer although not necessarily harder but it still requires active enthusiasts due to a higher level of effort to put into kayaking. And since it lasts from morning till mid/late afternoon it can get windy and choppy so we definitely encourage people with previous kayaking experience to join us on this tour. How far we really go is related to the weather conditions too, but basically we do not depend on tight schedule so we can say that this tour is tailor-made every time.
For millennia people have sailed around Korcula to explore, conquer, trade…nowadays these crystalline waters lure modern travelers who want to discover both history and nature in one of the most beautiful corners of the Adriatic Sea. Islets and rocks scattered between Korcula, Lumbarda and Orebic are a getaway for locals and provide little pebble beaches, clear water, more or less secluded and protected coves; Badija has a monastery, Vrnik quarries from Roman times, Majsan hosted a villa from the same period and so on. The backdrop to this eye-pleasing scenery is the mountain of Saint Ilija towering mightily almost a kilometer above sea level guarding the strait between Peljesac peninsula and Korcula island.
Feeling good about this trip is what matters – our pace follows the agility and ability of the group and adapts to weather conditions. First step is we pick you up in the center of the town and get transfer to our kayaking base where we start with introduction to the activity and equipment, safety briefing and then we set out.
Our sea kayaking full-day tour, including a few great stops for swimming, snorkeling, relaxing and tasty lunch, has been created to enjoy different angles and aspects of this unique area that in the past witnessed some of the major naval battles, as well as capturing Marco Polo by the Genovese fleet. Those days are gone, Odysseus returned to Ithaca long ago; today it’s all about fishermen, nature lovers, modern explorers, yachtsmen and sea kayakers seeking their special spot in this magical archipelago.
